Visa Application
For attendees from foreign countries, you may need to apply for a visa to China to arrive in Shanghai to participate in AMO@XFEL2024. For this, we have prepared a conference invitation letter template (Invitation Letter Template.docx) for your Chinese visa application. Please complete the personal information (highlighted in red) in the template and send it via email (xfel2024@shanghaitech.edu.cn) to us (in .docx format), and we will send you a formal invitation letter (PDF file with the seal of the conference organizer) based on it.
In addition, a good message regarding visa exemption from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs may catch your attention:
“From 0:00 on December 1, 2023 to 24:00 on November 30, 2024 Beijing time, individuals holding ordinary passports from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit for no more than 15 days are eligible for visa free entry. The above-mentioned countries do not meet the visa exemption requirements, time limits, and personnel holding official passports from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain still need to apply for a visa to China before entering the country.”
You can learn and verify relevant visa free messages and detailed consultation contact information from the official websites of Chinese embassies in corresponding countries.
Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or require assistance in any way (via xfel2024@shanghaitech.edu.cn). We hope you can have a pleasant journey to Shanghai.
